Why HomeDominican exists
HomeDominican started with a sentence you hear in a lot of Dominican families living abroad: "someday I want a place of my own back home." For many people, that dream hits the same wall. You don't know who to believe, you can't fly down every month to check on things, and you've heard too many stories about lots sold twice or deposits that simply vanished.
We are part of the diaspora too, or grew up surrounded by it. We know what it means to save hard in New York, Boston, Madrid or Milan and want that effort to turn into something safe. So we built a site for people buying from far away who have more questions than answers.
What makes us different
Curated, not classifieds
We don't publish everything that comes our way. Every property goes through a review: title, legal status, seller identity, an in-person visit or live video walkthrough, and a price check against the zone. If something doesn't add up, it doesn't go live. We'd rather show you a few good options than hundreds of doubtful ones.
Education before sales
Our guides explain in plain words what a "deslinde" (official boundary survey) is, what closing really costs, how Confotur works and how to use a power of attorney. We want you to walk into any conversation with an agent or a lawyer knowing exactly what to ask.
Data for every zone
Each zone has its own profile with reference prices, estimated rental yield and real-life context: access, services, risks. We tell you where every number comes from and when it is example data.
Real transparency
Our methodology page explains how we verify, how we keep the lights on and which content is sponsored. Sponsors never buy a spot in the listings or a verification.
What we are not
HomeDominican is an informational website. We are not a real-estate agency, we don't act as a licensed agent or intermediary, and we never receive or hold buyers' money. When you decide to move forward with a property, you deal directly with a verified professional and your own lawyer. Our job is to make sure you get to that point informed and at ease.
