We want everyone to be able to use HomeDominican, including people who browse with a screen reader, only with a keyboard, with zoom or with low vision. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
What we do
- Semantic HTML, ordered headings and a "Skip to content" link at the top of every page.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus.
- Alternative text on informative images; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms with labels, error messages and status updates that screen readers announce.
- Sufficient contrast, light and dark modes, and a layout that adapts to zoom and mobile.
- We honor the "reduce motion" preference: animations and the home carousel stop, and the carousel has a pause button.
- The whole site is available in Spanish and English.
Known limitations
- Maps: are not fully accessible with screen readers. The same information is available as text on the page: approximate location, zone and lists of nearby places.
- 3D tours: are visual. Each property's information is also available as text and described photos.
- PDF guide: may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Its content is also published in our web guides.
- Professional dashboard: is only available in Spanish.
How we assessed it
This statement is based on a self-assessment by our team, with keyboard, screen-reader and zoom testing. We review it whenever we change the design.
